DSBM Recording at home? Hello everyone, I have recorded on my phone a dozen of guitar riffs throughout the years and now I feel like its the time to publish my music. But I dont have any knowledge of guitar digital recording and mixing, so where do I start? Are there any good *free* recording software that I can use?

About DSBM. As some may know, DSBM is Depressive Suicidal Black Metal. I am just getting into metal. So this stuff isn't for me. I am not ready for it yet because I heard you shouldn't listen to this genre when you are not mentally strong. And I am NOT mentally strong. I have this phobia, and that's another discusion.

In an oversimplified fashion I'll separate DSBM-esque into three sections. *Clean- as the it suggests, they're normal sung vocals. *Harsh- In DSBM, at least the bands I've listened to, there is typically mid range to high range harsh vocal. *Howls- somewhat of a combination of the two. I have not been able to do these.

Was listening to a DSBM comp from 2023 the other day and the first track was faux lofi. I get it with some 17 year olds in a basement and a cassette recorder in 1993 but it's 2024, you can get decent quality. The next track was great quality which made it even more pronounced. You're not DSBM 'cos it sounds like it was recorded in a washing.
